Hello Friends,
As we take a walk through a nice little trail, we start to catch up. You mention how lonely you feel as you don't see your closest friend as often as you used to and you feel alone. We stop for a minute under a grove of trees and I gently remind you, friends come and go. Sometimes you have to let it go and embrace the new changes. My mother once said this story to me, There were two really good friends that were really close when they both were having a hard time surviving high school. They leaned onto each other and helped each other. They understood each other's situations but when they were in their last year of high school, they drifted apart since they no longer were going through the same thing. They took different paths. It will happen. Of course you will stay friends but you won't be close. That is okay, it allows you to become independent and to find new friends out there in the world. Remember all the people who care about you, people are in your life for a reason. To help you. There are so many friends I have been blessed with. God doesn't want us to walk this earth alone so he made friends.A friend will come in the point of your life when you need someone to bring you up, to be encouraged and to pick you up when you fall.
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work. If one falls down, his friend can help him up." -Ecclesiastes 4:9
However, we must protect ourselves and chose who to hang out with. There is a warning: Friends can lift you up or bring you down. They change you for better or for worse. It all starts with the choice of who you will hang out with, depending on the crowds you are always with because the more you hang out with people, the more you pick up their habits, their thoughts, their beliefs. Some people can lead you to bad decisions, and some can lead you to good choices. It starts with you. Who will you chose to hang out with?
"Whoever walks with the wise become wise but the company of fools will suffer harm." -Proverbs 13:20
Some friends can get you in trouble and pressure you to do things that are not right. Be careful for whom you chose will impact your life in one way or another. Life is too short to be with friends that tear you down. Be with people who lift you up, who challange and make you grow in your faith. Friends who pray together, who cry together and laugh together are more than true friends. They are there when we need them the most, then they move on to impact and help other people As we grow up in our lives friends may go down a different path from your own. Their interests may change as well as their beliefs. Its hard but it happens. Cherish the time you have with your friends. The only friend that will never change no matter how much time passes is Jesus.
"I will never leave, nor forsake you." -Hebrews 13:5
He will always be there for you to talk to, to cry with, to be with and to guide you. He places people in our lives at the times we need them the most. Aren't we blessed with friends? Hope this helps you to chose your friends wisely. Love you all and if you want to talk, my email is up there! Have a beautiful day!
