When Your World Falls

Hello Friends,

Have you ever had that moment where you receive bad news and your world just stops. Everything freezes for a second and you feel like you can't even grasp it. You start feeling a sense of dread. A million things run through your mind and a fear grips you. You feel like you want to cry but you got to stay strong. We can turn to God during this time of fear or we can turn away from God. Which path will you chose as you come to this crossroad of belief? When your worlds fall, how can you survive? I've been there several times. The first time was when I was a freshman in high school. One of my friends had passed away as a victim of suicide and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I couldn't understand. I felt like my world of safety was torn and ripped apart as I walked through the path of grief. During this time, God promises to be faithful. He promises to hold us when we break.

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." -Psalm 34:18

When we cry out to God, he comes and comforts us. I cried for days, I felt so weak and my heart was crushed and I turned to God for peace and healing. I cried out to the Lord to fill the hole in my heart. I sobbed into my pillow late at night and during the day I would paste a smile on my face and pretend I was fine. But all those times I cried out to God, I felt that he wasn't near but I still prayed, I still asked him to get me through the day. Then one night, late at night. I was silently crying, my heart was heavy and I felt someone sit on my bed and rub my back. You know how when someone else gets in bed, it moves a little and it dips towards the person getting on. No one was there but I could physically feel a hand and someone sitting on the bed. I felt such a peace and love that just warms you from the inside and out. It was God, He was there with me, grieving with me.When you cry out to God, he will come.

"But I will call on God and the Lord will rescue me. Morning, noon and night, I cry out my distress and the Lord hears my voice. He ransoms me and keeps me safe." -Psalm 55:16-18

God is always with you. You may feel like you are distant from God but he will never leave, nor forsake you. He is fighting for you, pursuing you and He loves you so much that he had died the most brutal death for you, what kind of love is this? God is not some tinker that left us. He delights in us through happy times, and cries with us when our hearts are broken. For it is written:

"The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." -Deuteronomy 31:8

I know I have seasons were I feel like God isn't there even though he is. But he is always with you, you can always turn to Him for comfort and peace. Trust in Him, he has a bright plan for you. A future of hope and everything will be ok in the end. This verse has got me through so much and it is my lifeline.

"But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow tired, they will walk and not faint." -Isaiah 40:31

When you trust in God, you start to see His plan for you and grow deeper in Him. Trusting in Him gave me the strength to go through another day, to smile when my heart was broken, to treasure the little things and enjoy life. We all question God why terrible things happen. After a few years of trying to make sense of why bad things happen and why God allows it; I came up with a few pointers that I found. Now I believe God makes us go through painful and horrible parts of life for four purposes. 1) To make us stronger and more pure and holy to do the work God has sent us. -Zechariah 13:9 2) To help others who are going through the same thing or something similar. -Ecclesiastes 4:9–12 Many people are hurting in one way or another. We are here to help each other, encouraged each other and lift each other up. 3) To learn to resist the devil. -Ecclesiastics 6:10-18 He tries to take us as far as possible from God and will destroy the joy and the peace you have in Christ but the Name Of Jesus has power. It can stop the devil from ripping you from God. 4) To walk closer with God. -Psalms 121:1-8 Many times during the situations in our lives we try to run from God, blaming Him for what happens, however, later on, we can see how God was with us through each and every step of the way, teaching us, developing us, making us grow stronger and more kinder. He will never leave, nor forsake us no matter how much we mess up or how alone we feel. Turn your, "why," into, "who is in control of this situation." To sum it all up, -Call out to God. -Trust in Him -Everything will be ok. I got into journaling , I took long walks, I prayed, I talked to my closest girlfriend, I took long baths, I danced and I let it go and let God in. If you are grieving and need help, always, ALWAYS talk to someone. Please don't bottle it up. Don't pretend everything is fine when its not. It will make it worse, not better. You need some time to cry, you need to let it out. To show people you are human. Its ok to grieve and when you are ready, you can get back up. I hope this helps some of you. Today, I received some horrible news but it was truly a good reminder that God is in control no matter how much of our world falls apart. My email is up here if you want to talk. Love you all! Have a beautiful day!

"And the decision to forgive has stayed the same, and it will stay the same a thousand times over.
It's a beautiful gift.
And choosing love over hatred is really important.
Love over evil.
That's really important in this age that we're living in."
