Rejoicing In Who God Is

Hello Friends,
I am sitting by the fire with a big mug of English breakfast tea. I love this time of the year where it gets cold and cozy! I just wanted to share with you a verse that really stood out to me. It is hidden in the Old Testament of the Bible, often overlooked and skipped over. Here it is,
“Yet, I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The sovereign Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to tread on the heights.” –Habakkuk 3:18-19
I have to admit sometimes, I forget to rejoice. I am so focused on myself and the things that I have to do that I start believing its all about me, me me. And let me be real. Its not a good thing. I rely on my own will, my own mind and my own strength. And it fails over and over again. It makes me into an ugly person; bitter, jealous and filled with self-pity. However, His mercies begin anew each and every day. A new day and a new slate.
“Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning.” –Lamentations 3:23
But I’ve been learning a little secret. When you find one thing to rejoice about each day, life actually becomes joyful. Not happy, but joyful. The word “rejoice,” according to dictionary.com means “to delight, to be glad in.” Start small; delight about one little thing such as bumping into an old friend or a cup of tea and go on from there. He will give you the strength to rejoice. When you rejoice in His creation and give thanks to Him for what He is doing, He is more than pleased. And the Lord rejoices over you whether you delight in Him or not. You are His child. This should give us more the reason to rejoice in Him for He delights in us even when we make mistakes. His love for you is unending. This brings me to the next line of Habakkuk 3:19.
“…The sovereign Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to tread on heights.”-Habakkuk 3:19
He will carry you through each day. Whether it’s a good day, or a bad day. He will carry you. Your steps will not be heavy, the burdens lifted from your shoulders as you keep your eyes on Him. He is a powerful almighty God who is in control of every millisecond of the universe and He loves you and thinks about you and knows your thoughts, what you eat, what music you listen to, your favorite weather. He has given us such a powerful gift, a gift of a real relationship with the Powerful almighty, glorious king. Isn't that something to celebrate?! YAAAASSS OH MY SWEET GOODNESS!!! THANK YOU JESUS! WHOOT WHOOT!
Have a beautiful day!
