You Are More

Hello Friends, All my life, I’ve struggled with failure. It is a situation and topic that comes up constantly. I often blame myself for past mistakes, for not being good enough for anyone or anything and not pleasing God. Sound similar? Let me tell you something that has proved to be truth over and over. YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE. God takes those mistakes and the person who you are; you don’t need to try to be good enough for God. He loves you the way you are. It pleases Him that you do try your best but He will never be disappointed in you. He is Creator of time, work, school, friends, family and ruler of the Heavens and Earth. Nothing goes by Him. He is bigger than all your stuff. You please Him in all you do because you are His people, not because what you say or do. He is pleased just because you are you.

“The Lord will not abandon His people because; it will dishonor His great name. For it has pleased the Lord to make you His people.” -1 Samuel 12:22

God has called you for a purpose. Do not be ashamed of your failures for they all are part of something greater than you. You could never fail Him. You are not God, you are only human.

“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard” -Romans 3:23

He knows that His creation falls short but He loves you no matter what. Nothing could stop him from loving you any less. God delights in you.

“No, the LORD's delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.” –Psalms 147:11

He delights in your every thought, the words you say and the actions you take. God sees you covered in the blood of His son, Jesus. In His eye, You are worthy. You are loved. You are a beautiful mess. You may say, “But I keep failing and I’m sure God frowns upon me.” The truth is He doesn’t frown or blame you. Period. He believes in you and when you fall, He helps you right back up. Again, you are not a failure. Mistakes are made in order for us to grow and understand and be molded into the temples God wants us to be. God is working on you in spite of your weakness. You are a garden and He is the gardener. He is making all the flowers and wild grass and trees into something even more beautiful than you could ever imagine. Your weakness is His greatest strength. He sees you as pure, as a gem as His temple, as His people, as His sons and daughters. Come as you are in His presence. He sees your heart and He wants to bless you because you are His sons and daughters. A book called “The Shack” by William P. Young gives a glimpse of what God believes in you.

“Together, you and I, we have been working with a purpose in your heart. And it is wild and beautiful and perfectly in process. To you, it seems like a mess, but to me, [The Lord], I see a perfect pattern emerging and growing and alive-a living fractal.” –The Shack p. 138

God loves you the way you are. You are beautiful and complete in His mind. You are a work in progress. He is working with you to overcome those insecurities and shame that you cling on to. Let it go and surrender it to Jesus. He loves you so much that He died for you so you could no longer walk in shame and past mistakes.

“I have loved you with everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving kindness.”

-Jeremiah 31:3

He sees no flaw in you. He believes in you. He is with you every step of the way. He wants to bless you. However, to walk forth with confidence that He loves you and sees no flaw in you, you got to believe in yourself. If you ever need to talk you can message me! Love you all!
