Your Story Written By The Creator

Hello Friends,

I am sitting in a coffee shop as music plays. I have stumbled upon a subject that has been a struggle in my past and continues to haunt me. Comparing to other people. We live in a society that struggles with comparisons. I find myself comparing to different looks, passions, struggles to be the best, most attractive and or most successful. We secretly compare ourselves to the prettiest girl out there or the fit guy, or even our siblings. We look at other accomplishments and achievements. In that sense, we have created a disordered view of what God wants us to see; the plans, the steps He has for us and how it all works together to create a beautiful mess. Life is messy but it all comes together in an extraordinary way.

“You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day has passed.” –Psalm 139:16

In that, we forget how we are special in our own way. You are a breathing body, equipped with billions of cells and organs that all work together to create you. Have you ever noticed how someone crinkles their nose, that little dimple they have when they smile, the way they laugh, that forehead crease when they are focused. How their eyes move. Each and every little thing is what makes up a person. And you are full of those cute little things, yes! YOU! There is never another person made exactly like you in this world. In the millions and millions of individuals on this earth, there has never been anyone, anything like you.

"For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made." -Psalm 139:14

You are unique, special and have different personalities, different dreams, passions, different feelings and different looks. But here’s the point I want to get across, even God’s plans for you are not the same as anyone else's. They are special and unique, created just for you. Because there isn’t another “you” in this world, God has something that he knows what is best for you and your life. He is not writing other people’s stories in your book. He is writing your own story.

“ You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing upon my head.” –Psalm 139:5

Each person has a story that God is writing through him or her. God has given us all different paths. This is why we shouldn’t compare. God is not writing their story on you or your story on them. God knows the best for each and every one of us. He enjoys blessing you, His child. (Psalm 37:23) He is writing out a beautiful story in your life. All stories have trials and victories. You may not see it as a beautiful story now but He sees and knows the bigger picture. As it says in Jeremiah (29:11) His future for you is good, full of hope and not of disaster. He is writing a beautiful story of you.

“ The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your needs in parched places, and make your bones strong, and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters never fail.” –Isaiah 58: 11

Instead of being jealous of that person in front of you, trust in the Lord and walk in those beautiful plans He has for you. Dwell on the fact that God wants to give you things that are bigger and better than you have ever dreamed of and He is giving you a future full of hope. Someday, you’ll look back and realize it all worked out in such a beautiful way.

“The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot. The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.” –Psalm 16:5-6
